Treatments for Ageing Hands & Neck

Our face is not the only part of our body that will start to show signs of ageing over time.

The hands and neck are also common areas where pronounced ageing is visible. Just like for the face, different anti-ageing treatments are available for both the hands and the neck to create an overall younger appearance.

Treatments for the hands

Hands are one of the first parts of the body that show ageing, and they often age much faster than the face because the skin is much thinner. Since there is such a small amount of fat on the back of our hands, even the smallest decreases in collagen or elastin production will cause a visible difference.

For ageing hands, you can use specially formulated hand creams designed to re-ignite collagen production. However, they must be used on a nightly basis to be effective.

A general rule of thumb is to avoid sun and UV-ray exposure. Always remember to put sunscreen on your hands as well to minimise the sun’s damage to your hands, like the development of sunspots.

If you are looking for more immediate results for your ageing hands, you may want to consider medical fillers. When injected into the hands, the fillers are designed to add volume and put back some “cushioning” to the entire surface of the hand, not just singular wrinkles like when administered to the face.

Treatments for the neck

After the age of 40, the skin on our necks becomes a victim of the ageing process. The neck is susceptible to the same ageing factors as the face and can be treated in similar ways.

Of course, there are different anti-ageing creams created for the neck that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. But these treatments take time.

Choosing to receive an injectable treatment is often much more cost-effective and quicker compared to expensive, more diluted creams.

Botulinum toxin can be injected around the face and neck to prevent wrinkles from forming as well as skin from sagging. The muscles will also be prevented from contracting and, therefore, cannot make dynamic wrinkles.
