Micro-needling
Micro-needling utilises a small device called a derma roller, which pricks the skin with a series of small needles.
By pricking the skin, the skin will be agitated to generate new collagen and skin tissue to recover the microdamage on the skin’s surface. Since this procedure revolves around collagen production, it is also known as collagen induction therapy.
The new skin tissue produced after the production will appear even in both tone and texture since it is full of collagen.
Generally, micro-needling is reserved for the facial area to treat scars, wrinkles, and larger pores. Following the treatment, your skin will be brighter, firmer, and more supple.
On the day of the procedure, a topical anaesthetic is applied so you will not feel any discomfort. Then, our aesthetic specialist rolls the derma roller evenly over your skin for about 30 minutes. To finish the procedure, our specialist will apply a serum or calming liquid to aid the skin in its collagen production and healing.
The most common side effects include some temporary redness for a few days after the treatment. Get in contact with us immediately if you experience any bleeding bruising, or suspect an infection.
If you are currently pregnant, nursing, have open wounds, suffer from skin diseases, or have a history of bad scarring, micro-needling may not be the best procedure for you. Should that be the case, our experienced staff will provide you with in-depth information about other treatment options and help you make the right choice.
If these conditions do not apply to you and you are interested in micro-needling, get in contact with us at East Grinstead, West Sussex, on 01342 321 094 or Hampton, London, on 07966 222 806 to schedule your initial consultation.
